Ms. Jan Perry Recognized With The “Excellence In Education” Award at GFEL Las Vegas, 2020–21

Las Vegas, Nevada — June 28, 2021 — Ms. Jan Perry was honored with the “Excellence in Education” award for her exceptional contributions to the education industry at the second edition of The Global Forum for Education and Learning (GFEL), held at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas, USA on June 23–25, 2021.

Ms. Perry is the Founder and Executive Director of America’s Finest Charter School. She has a Master’s Degree in Education, M. Ed., and an Administrative Credential. She graduated from the Educational Leadership Development Academy (ELDA) in 2000 at the University of San Diego (USD). She has been a Peer Coach/ Staff Developer, Principal, and Vice-Principal for Charter Schools with the San Diego Unified School District. She is also a member of the Charter Schools Development Center (CSDC), Leadership Academy, the California Charter Schools Association and the International Reading Association.

All of her educational experience has been with socio-economically disadvantaged students in southeast San Diego. Her experience in elementary school teaching, coaching, and managing teaching staff, and her long-standing connection to the targeted southeast community brings the experience and expertise needed to manage and lead the staff at A.F.C.S.

Ms. Perry’s trailblazing endeavors and her noble dedication to driving change in the realm of education led to her nomination and ultimately, to her selection for the prestigious honor.

When asked about her experience at GFEL, she said, “It was a nice experience. I sat next to the really interesting people and I went to a couple of sessions and the people here are on top of their games.”
